A map of the island of Thanet, set over a simple texture. The printed version appears over two pages with the spine in the centre.
I created the map in full colour, even though the requirement was black and white.
I created the map in full colour, even though the requirement was black and white. This is intended for digital viewing.
The dragon/sea serpent detail set over cloth texture, as though woven.
The compass was created with a combination of an ornate weave and a subtle knife through the centre.
My notes from the author included this very helpful mockup he created in a map maker programme. I was able to save a lot of time by using it as my starting reference for Thanet's dimensions and geography.

The layer showing the fine hand-drawn detail of waves and grass tufts. I chose to hand draw these assets because the rest of the map has a very slick, clean look and I wanted to give it distinct (if very subtle) texture.
